BSW provides a range of certifications to meet various specializations in racquet stringing:
- Certified Badminton Stringer (CBS)
- Professional Badminton Stringer (PBS)
- Master Tour Badminton Stringer (MTBS)
- Certified Tennis Stringer (CTS)
- Professional Tennis Stringer (PTS)
- Master Tour Tennis Stringer (MTTS)
- Certified Squash Stringer (CSS)
- Professional Squash Stringer (PSS)
- Master Squash Stringer (MSS)
- Certified Tension Advisor – Badminton (CTA-B)
- Certified String Advisor – Badminton (CSA-B)
- Professional Badminton String & Tension Advisor (PBSTA)
Exam Structure
Each certification level consists of two components:
1. Theory Examination: Tests knowledge of stringing principles, racquet technology, and sport-specific requirements.
2. Practical Assessment: Evaluates hands-on stringing skills, technique, and efficiency.
Candidates must pass both components to achieve certification.
Direct Examination Option
Experienced stringers can opt for direct examination without attending BSW courses. However, we recommend reviewing our syllabus to ensure readiness for the rigorous testing process.

3. If not available online, contact your local BSW representative

Certification Specialization and Recognition
BSW certification exams are designed to assess expertise in specific racquet sports. Upon successful completion of the certification process:
1. Certificates – Each BSW certificate will clearly indicate the racquet sport(s) in which the stringer has demonstrated proficiency.
2. Stringer Directory –
BSW maintains a comprehensive online directory of certified stringers, displaying:
– The stringer’s name
– Certification level(s) achieved
– Specific racquet sport specializations
– Stringer Country, Region, state, contact information
– Stringer Comprehensive Stringing Profile
– Date of Certified
